We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented management information systems (MIS) specialist to join our team. As an MIS Specialist, you will be responsible for managing, analysing, and leveraging data to support decision-making and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our organisation's systems and processes. Your primary goal will be to ensure the availability, integrity, and security of our MIS infrastructure while optimising its functionality to meet business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain management information systems to support the organisation's operations, processes, and decision-making.
- Analyse business requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify MIS needs and develop solutions that align with organisational objectives.
- Monitor and maintain the organisation's databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Design, develop, and generate reports, dashboards, and data visualisations to provide insights and support strategic decision-making at various levels of the organisation.
- Identify data trends, patterns, and anomalies through data analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements and optimisation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the smooth integration and interoperability of MIS systems with other systems and applications.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to identify and resolve data inconsistencies, errors, and gaps.
- Train and provide technical support to end-users in utilising MIS systems and tools effectively.
- Stay updated on industry best practises, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to MIS and data management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement enhancements and upgrades to existing MIS systems, ensuring scalability and future-proofing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, or a related field Relevant certifications and additional qualifications are a plus.
- Proven work experience as an MIS specialist, database administrator, business analyst, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), SQL, and data manipulation languages.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Experience in designing and developing management reports, dashboards, and data visualisations.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of information security and data privacy regulations and best practises.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
